Lacaton -Vassal Plateforme 6 pallets in wood and wax fabric on foam core 120x80 cm each Note: At the end of 2008, the Lacaton & Vassal monographic exhibition offered an insight into their approach, in the very year they won the Grand Prix de l'Architecture. The exhibition - designed by the Cité de l'architecture & du patrimoine / Institut français d'architecture, with scenography by the architects themselves - focused on the most recent part of their work, reflecting their practice of architecture as an ethical posture between recycling and technological innovation. Constructed in the style of their creations, making a recurring theme the very subject of the project, the exhibition implemented the ideas and structuring references of the architects' work through various media: films, clips, reports, slideshows, photos, plans and sketches.The exhibition illustrated Lacaton & Vassal's major preoccupations: offering users more space, more comfort and a higher quality of life; expanding the existing, while saving space and resources; renovating, reusing the existing to improve it.
