Anthropomorphic mask surmounted by a bird. Ivory Coast, Baoulé people, 20th century. Carved wood with a beautiful, glossy brown-black patina. With an elongated face and almond-shaped eyes, as well as scarification marks on the forehead, the mask is topped by a stylized “bird” crest, a recurring motif in Baoulé iconography. A beautiful sculpture with a patina from use. Height: 35 cm
