Standing Buddha - Lot 45
Standing Buddha Burma (Mandalay), late 19th–early 20th century. Red-lacquered wood (teak) with traces of gilding. H. 181 cm. Standing Buddha, the body draped in an utarasanga with vertical folds; the head adorned with tight curls surmounted by a flame-shaped ushnisha; elongated earlobes. The missing attached forearms (visible mortise joints) prevent the mudra from being identified with certainty. Original patina with ritual wear.
