Louis MAJORELLE (1859-1926) Lounge table, c.1898, in carved and molded walnut with a rectangular top with rounded corners and marquetry decoration in different woods of flowers and aristoloches leaves, opening with a drawer in the waist. Corner base with curved legs, grooved at the top then bulging with carved floral decoration and ending in a recessed curved cone. Signed in the marquetry. Height 73 cm - length 89 cm - depth 9 cm History: one-drawer "Aristoloche" table, price January 1914: 190 francs. A similar model is preserved in the Musée d'Orsay collections, the "Feuilles de marronnier" coffee table (inv. OAO 1362).
