François Azambourg (b. 1963) Quadrille Suite of eight ash plywood chairs Publisher Moustache H. 73 W. 38 D. 45 cm Note: French designer François Azambourg cultivates an experimental approach blending technical innovation and formal poetry. Trained in electrical engineering, then at the Beaux-Arts and Applied Arts schools, he develops light, simple, often self-built objects, and has filed several patents for inflatable furniture and flexible materials. Winner of the Villa Médicis Hors les murs and the Grand Prix du Design de Paris, he has collaborated with Domeau & Pérès, Ligne Roset, Kreo and Cappellini. Inspired by the living and biomimicry, his projects question technique as language, between craft, industrial design and applied research.
