Marcel WANDERS (b. 1963) B L O Two metal table lamps Note: A prolific designer, art director and entrepreneur, Wanders has created over 1,700 projects for prestigious brands such as Alessi, Flos, KLM, Puma and Swarovski. In 2001, he co-founded the Moooi label, a veritable platform for international creation, where he imposes a poetic, theatrical vision of design. Renowned for his desire to place people at the heart of the creative process, Marcel Wanders blends innovative techniques, historical references and a baroque spirit. He designs immersive objects and interiors, conveying a rich and emotional imagination - such as the Andaz Amsterdam, Mondrian Miami and Kameha Grand hotels in Zurich. His work is exhibited in the world's leading museums: MoMA, V&A, Stedelijk Museum, Boijmans van Beuningen. In 2014, the Stedelijk Museum devoted a major retrospective to his work: Pinned Up. Described by the New York Times as the "Lady Gaga of design", Wanders has never ceased to blur the boundaries between art, craft and industry, in an ongoing quest for enchantment, sensuality and dreams.
