José PUENTE (1928-2002) Tertulia Oil on canvas. Signed lower left 55x46 cm Note: Our painting features the figures of the three great bullfighters of the early 20th century: on the left, Juan BELMONTE, the bullfighting revolutionary. In the center José GOMEZ "Gallito", the greatest bullfighter, killed at the age of 25 in Talavara de Reina by a toro. On the right is his brother Rafael GOMEZ "El GALLO", a bullfighter also famous for his panic attacks, which earned him fines and prison sentences for refusing to fight toros he didn't like.
